Artwork made of felted wool will be on display at the Franklin Gallery of RiverStones Custom Framing in Rochester.
“Felting Takes Flight: An Artistic Expression through Wool” features the work of fiber artist Kristen Weyrick-Scott of Nottingham.
Weyrick-Scott turns wool into paintings and sculptures with both wet and needle felting techniques, showcasing the beauty of nature.
“I love natural fiber. I love the feel, the color, and even the smell,” she said. “Using it as a medium for my artwork is such a joy.”
Her work is in galleries across New England and the Madison Museum of Fine Arts in Madison, Ga.
A reception for the exhibit will be held Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Weyrick-Scott will also hold a workshop at the gallery on March 16 at 7 p.m. Cost is $30, and reservations are required as there are only 15 spots available.
The exhibit will run through the end of March.
