Diane Lang was arrested in Concord on Jan. 9, 2017 after police say she tried to steal an ambulance.

A Merrimack County grand jury has indicted a Tilton woman accused of trying to steal a Barnstead Fire Rescue ambulance Jan. 6 as it idled at a Concord gas station.

Diane Lang, 47, is charged with two counts of attempted theft by unauthorized taking and one count of receiving stolen property in connection with the incident.

Prosecutors allege she drove from Tilton to the Cumberland Farms gas station on North Main Street in a stolen Toyota Corolla.

Witnesses told police Lang tried to drive off in the ambulance after getting into a fight with a Brinkโ€™s Armored Truck driver who was also parked at the gas station. The Brinkโ€™s driver was returning to his vehicle with a bag of money at the time of the altercation.

Lang got as far as the ambulanceโ€™s driverโ€™s seat before emergency responders managed to wrestle her out of the vehicle and to the ground, police said.

The ambulance rolled and hit two parked cars. No one was hurt.
