My name is Debbie Norris, and it has been a great pleasure to serve on Hopkinton’s Budget Committee for the past two years. I now ask for your support so I can continue to serve you for another term.
Through my 15 wonderful years in Hopkinton with my husband and our two sons, I have had many opportunities to learn what matters most to my friends and neighbors. I currently serve as membership chair for the Friends of the Hopkinton Town Library. I also mentor the Hopkinton Robotics Team, am a member of the Hopkinton Rotary and am honored to participate in many activities that reach out to Hopkinton residents, including Slusser events with seniors and the Contoocook Carry and Wood Bank.
As a taxpayer, too, I take understanding the budget very seriously. I personally attend both select board and school board meetings so school and town priorities are met. I have taken an open-minded approach to managing the budget that has resulted in cooperative, meaningful budget cuts that have protected our citizens’ bottom lines while upholding our town’s values, promoting local businesses and furthering our youth’s education.
Every resident of Hopkinton deserves a voice, and, if elected, I will continue to be an active listener and cooperative member of the budget committee to create a fiscally responsible budget.
