Monarchs result
The Manchester Monarchs (31-19-7-4) lost a home game to the Norfolk Admirals, 8-6. Cory Ward, Quentin Shore, Aston Rome, Tim Bozon, Joey Diamond and David Kolomatis scored for the Monarchs. Manchester scored first, but the Admirals rattled off three straight goals and held a 4-2 lead after the first period. Manchester tied the game at 12:38 in the second period and took a 5-4 lead on Diamondโs goal at 14:37. Norfolk regained the lead, 6-5, by the end of the second period. Norfolkโs Joey Benik completed a hat trick at 8:42 of the third period to give the Admirals an 8-5 lead. Kolomatis wrapped up the Monarchsโ scoring with a goal in the closing minutes of the game.
The Christa McAuliffe Blue Knights defeated the CMS Hybrid team, 25-21, to win the Concord Recreation fifth- and sixth-grade boysโ basketball championship. The Blue Knights team members are: Eritier Demunga, Zack Doward, Ryder Fisk, Jackson Kalil, Nathan Lantz, Connor McIntyre, Carsen Miller, Yves Mugiraneza, JP Nzeyimana, Nick Reynolds and Alain Twite. The team was coached by Gary Ford and Matt Fisk. Mugiraneza (12 points), Lantz (five points) and Reynolds (good defense) led the Blue Knights. For the CMS Hybrid team, Roy Annis and Ben Masur led the scoring. Nate Wachter played good defense and Davis Linzell rebounded well.
Post 21 Senior Legion baseball tryouts will be held on May 7 at Concord Sports Center. Culture of Sports conference hosted by NHTI Sports Management Club is on April 7 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event will include keynote speaker Jamie Staton from WMUR, plus Monitor Sports Editor Tim OโSullivan and others. The conference is for sports-minded professionals from every level including sports management majors, coaches, aspiring athletic directors and sports executives. Soccer Skills and Goalkeeping Clinics for ages 6-60 begins Monday at FieldHouse Sports. Clinics are directed by Jorge Pardo of Caramba Soccer Camps and meet on Monday afternoons. UNH field hockey program has announced two April clinics and tournament dates. The U14/U16 and U19 high school and club team clinic and tournament will be held April 9 and the U16/U19 team clinic and tournament is April 23. UNH womenโs lacrosse summer camp will be held June 26-28. The camp is open to girls entering grades 6-12 in the 2017-18 academic year. There are commuter and overnight options, both of which include meals provided at UNH dining facilities. The overnight also includes housing in UNH dormitories. Cost is $375 for the commuter option and $450 for overnight campers. There is a group/team discount available for overnight campers. UNH field hockey summer camps are now accepting registrations for three 2017 camps: session I (June 28-July 1), session II (July 5-8) and a youth clinic (July 6-7). Session I and II are open to junior high and high school students (as of fall 2017). There are overnight ($475) and commuter ($375) options for both sessions. The youth clinic will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to ages 5-12. The cost is $35 per day or $60 for both days. UNH womenโs soccer camps are now open for registration. The 2017 Junior Wildcat Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 10-13. All female players in grades 1-5 (as of the 2017-18 academic year) are invited to register. Each day runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. This session costs $180. The 2017 UNH Girls Soccer Overnight Camp will be held from July 16-19. This session is open to all female player in grades 6-12 (as of the 2017-18 academic year).
