Members of The Band, the Levon Helm Band and the Rick Danko Group will come together as The Weight Band on Friday at the Flying Monkey in Plymouth.
The Weight Band carries on playing the music of The Band, performing songs such as “The Weight,” “Up On Cripple Creek,” “Ophelia,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” and “Rag Mama Rag.”
The group is made up of Jim Weider, former lead guitarist with The Band, on vocals and guitar; Brian Mitchell, a singer, pianist and accordion and harmonica player with the Levon Helm Band and this group; Marty Grebb, who wrote for some The Band albums, is on vocals, piano, accordion and sax; Albert Rogers, a long-time collaborator with Weider, is on vocals and bass; and Michael Bram is on vocals and drums.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music begins at 7. Age 16 and older only. Tickets start at $29.
