A Dunbarton carpentry company has been fined $16,731 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration following an incident where two workers were injured while working at the Bow Public Safety building.
Ben Jackson & Sons were issued two fines on March 7 by OSHA officials, who for months have been investigating the late October incident in which a roof truss fell on the two workers. The individuals were transported to Concord Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released later that week.
According to OSHA, Ben Jackson & Sons did not provide “a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees” by failing to ensure that the trusses were adequately braced while being installed.
An email to OSHA was not returned immediately, and a working number for Ben Jackson & Sons could not be located.
The $4.3 million project began last summer and is expected to be completed sometime this spring.
