Guerschon Yabuesele, a first-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 2016, secured a work visa earlier this week and is expected to make his debut with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA’s D-League tonight.
The native of France joined the team in Greensboro, N.C., on Wednesday after spending the season playing in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he averaged 20.9 points and 9.4 rebounds in 43 games.
Maine (28-20) has lost three straight games but is on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. Yabuesele, 21, may just help them do that.
