Junior forward Jason Salvaggio and senior forward Tyler Kelleher of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team each picked up All-New England honors on Friday. Salvaggio was given the Paul Hines Award for New England’s Most Improved Player after recording 36 points for the Wildcats this season. Kelleher was named a New England Men’s Division I All-Star after finishing the year tied for first in the nation in points with 63.
University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey players Jonna Curtis and Amy Schlagel were both named to the New England Hockey Writers Women’s Division I All-Star Team. Curtis, a senior captain, picked up 21 goals and 21 assists in 35 games. Schlagel led the nation in goals for a defenseman with 13.
University of New Hampshire sophomore Shannon Murdock placed second overall in the 3,000-meter race at the Colonial Relays. Murdock finished in 9 minutes, 40.18 seconds in her first attempt at the race and qualified for the ECAC Championships scheduled for May 13-14.
Dartmouth College and Princeton announced that the two teams will play a game at Yankee Stadium on Nov. 9, 2019. Dartmouth is also scheduled to take on Brown at Fenway Park this season on Nov. 10.
Ryan Stevens, the leading scorer for the Plymouth State University men’s hockey team was selected to the New England Hockey Writers Association Men’s Division II/III All-Star Team. Stevens helped lead the Panthers to a MASCAC regular season title and finished the year with 20 goals and 19 assists.
Sam Sullivan and Megan Tingley combined for seven goals and three assists for the Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team in a 17-3 victory over Castleton University. The victory was the first of the season for the Panthers (1-2).
