Pittsfield middle and high school students created more than 250 soup bowls as a fundraiser at the school for the Pittsfield Food Pantry on Tuesday night. The school cafeteria provided five different soups – roasted tomato, potato bacon, broccoli cheese, corn chowder and beef barley – and sold bowls to residents. Art teacher Bill Mitchell said that 20 students from grades 7-12 made the bowls along with local artisans. Last year, the effort raised more than $1,200 for the pantry and Mitchell said that they are looking to break that record this year.
