What was the highlight of your season? Reaching my goal of over 200 points in my four years at Pembroke Academy.
Who was the unsung hero of your team? Our goalie, David Hammond. End of last year our goalie was injured in our last game, so he stepped up. Then over the summer, he committed to being our goalie for the next season. He trained over the summer and did really well this year.
What was the biggest surprise of the season? It was how well all the first-year players picked up the game. We had a very young team this year, with even a few of the older classmen were playing for their first season.
If you could improve high school lacrosse in New Hampshire, what would you do? If all schools had feeder programs, some schools might be able to compete with schools that already have established youth programs.
What’s your favorite pre-game meal? I usually just like to have pasta the night before a game. I don’t really eat before a game just because I do not want to risk cramping.
If someone was going to make a movie of your season, who would play your coach? Who would play you? I would be Mark Wahlberg because he is from the Boston area, similar to me, and he is a pretty solid actor. He can play both funny and dramatic characters which can fit my personality as I can be both humorous and serious. My coach, Tim Vasconcellos, would be played by Owen Wilson because their personalities are so similar.
What was the last gift you gave someone? I bought my mother a gift card for her car to be cleaned for Mother’s Day.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently? Falling asleep on the space key on my laptop, and waking up to 65 pages of spaces.
Describe the color yellow to someone who is blind. It’s like that feeling you get when you step outside on a warm day. It’s a happy and warm feeling, in the form of a color.
A penguin walks into your school wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he there? Says “My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” And it’s there because it’s extremely confused and from the future. Cause why not.
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would it be? And what would you serve? Neil deGrasse Tyson, Trevor Noah and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Neil deGrasse Tyson would just explain the most amazing concepts in astrophysiology. Trevor Noah would be absolutely hilarious. And Zlatan is Zlatan. He is a living legend and it would be amazing to be able to sit down to a dinner with him. I would just have a buffet of all kinds of options because all food is good food.
If you got $1 million to start a company, what would you do? Make an indoor facility that I can rent out for athletic events.
If you had to go on a talent show, what would you do? I would attempt to do a comedy act, and laugh too much in the process to make it an awful act.
What inspires you? My parents. They just work so hard for me and my brother. They are both teachers, so they have to stay at school almost every day for their own students and for their lessons plans. Yet they make it to both my brother’s and my games and make time to help us with homework as well if needed. They are extremely supportive of what my brother and I do as well. When I am older, I want to be able to be that kind of parent.
