The Number 5 Tavern in Hopkinton has closed.
The property has been listed for sale since April 19, according to Premiere Properties. The asking price is $425,000, according to online listings.
The tavern opened in the fall of 2014 by owner Amy Lanman of Hopkinton. At the time, the property on Kimball Pond had an assessed value of $301,100. It’s now assessed at $314,600.
The menu was based around American cuisine and included sandwiches, burgers, seafood and steaks, according to the restaurant’s website.
The restaurant’s name was derived from the town’s history. According to a previous Monitor article, Lanman discovered that before Hopkinton got its name, it was simply called town number 5 when it was first incorporated in the late 1700s.
Attempts to reach Lanman were not successful. A phone number listed on the restaurant’s website is disconnected, and the restaurant’s Facebook page has been removed.
Previously, the restaurant was known as Blaser’s Fireside Tavern.
