Sculptor J. Brett Gill guides a bench as it’s lowered to the ground
by a crane Tuesday in front of the State Library on Park Street.
The bench is part of the John Gilbert Winant statue display which is scheduled to be
unveiled Friday in a 10 a.m. ceremony. Winant was a three-term governor of New Hampshire, the first leader of the Social Security Administration and
U.S. ambassador to Britain during World War II.
