Youth basketball

Bow defeated Raymond, 35-4, in girlsโ€™ seventh- and eighth-grade Sportszone Summer League action. Alexandra Larrabee (16 points), Meghan Shippos (seven points), Jessica Chamberlin (six), Anna Abel (four) and Catherine Windsor (two) scored for Bow (1-5). Windsor led the team with seven assists.

The Bow Gold boysโ€™ third- and fourth-grade Sportzone Summer League team defeated Salem, 31-19. Bow Blue defeated Salem, 40-37. Jake Reardon paced both Bow teams with a combined 48 points. Brendan Oโ€™Keeffe (12 points), Peyton Larrabee (eight), Cale Goodnow (four) and Johnny Sisk (two) also led the Bow teams. Jack Wheeler played strong defense and Alex Cheney hustled at both ends of the court.

Golf results

Hopkintonโ€™s Brian Kelly (fourth), New Londonโ€™s Paul Lazdowski (fifth) and Concordโ€™s Paul Dallaire (eighth) all finished in the top 10 of the Valley Senior Golf Tournament at Eastman Golf Links in Grantham. Warnerโ€™s Ed Mical won his age group, while Kelly finished second in the same age group.

Terri Ponn and Jean VerPlanck took the first round lead in Concord Country Clubโ€™s Member-Member Championship. Ponn and VerPlanck shot a combined 78, six strokes ahead of Lois Davis and Gretchen Knapton. Kim Hutton and Sue Perry are leading in the net division with a 9-under par round of 63. The second and final round is scheduled for Friday

Ray Steenbeke scored a hole-in-one at the Concord Country Club. His 8-iron covered the 150 yards and into the cup for his first career ace. Witnessing the perfect shot were Hennikerโ€™s Jeff Towle and Concordโ€™s Chick Smith and TJ Whitelaw.

Lions golf tournament

The 12th Annual Andover Lions Golf Classic will be on Sept. 12 at the Country Club of New Hampshire in Sutton. The tournament is a four-person scramble format. Any number of players up to foursomes will be accepted. Please indicate the field of competition for your entry (Open Competition, Ladies Competition, or Senior Competition). Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the tournament starts with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $85 per person or $320 for a foursome. Extra shots are $5 each. An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the tournament is completed and all scores are posted. There will be prizes for firstst place teams as well as menโ€™s and womenโ€™s drive closest to line and closest to the hole. Bow Recreation Bootcamp will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. for adults. Teen Fit Camp is also on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:15-9 a.m. throughout the summer. Registration is required. Contact the Bow Recreation office at 228-2222.

Seacoast Express United soccer camps will be held this summer. Seacoast United Express Elite Day Camp will be Monday-Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 31 College Drive in Concord. Cost is $220. Concord Cannons Elite Baseball League Travel Program will be conducting tryouts for the 2017-2018 season on Aug. 12 for ages 10U-12U at NHTI in Concord from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tryout cost is $30.
