Eighth-graders at the Henniker Community School learned how to create 3-dimensional designs on the computer this year in teacher Jock Irvine’s computer applications class. Assisted by Mr. Irvine and Technology Integration Specialist Leanne Chauvette, students learned the basics of CAD (Computer Assisted Design) and worked to design various objects over several months. The project culminated with a contest in which the designs were judged by John Stark Regional High School Technology Director Stephen Law. The winners, who got to print their designs on a 3-D printer, were Tyler Scordo, William Connor and Brynna Newcomb. Henniker Technology Director Nicholas Buroker provided training and support for the use of the school’s new 3-D printer.
