JV result

Libby Segal scored the lone goal for the Concord JV field hockey team during a 4-1 loss to Bishop Guertin. Grace Leonard assisted on the goal while teammate Caitlyn Simms played a strong defensive game.

Flag football

Salisbury Recreation is looking to start a Co-ed NFL Flag Football program for children in Salisbury and the surrounding Merrimack Valley towns. Cost will be $35 per player and includes a jersey. U.S. Cellularโ€™s Most Valuable Coach program has returned to honor high school coaches who lead by example, make their teams better and give back to their communities. The Concord community can visit TheMostValuableCoach.com to nominate a current high school coach for the award through Sept. 11. The winning coach will receive a $50,000 donation a charitable organization of their choice, or their high schoolโ€™s athletic department. The top 50 coaches will be announced on Sept. 19 and the winning coach will be announced on Nov. 20.

12th Annual Andover Lions Golf Classic will be on Sept. 18 at the Country Club of New Hampshire in Sutton. The tournament is a four-person scramble format. Any number of players up to foursomes will be accepted. Please indicate the field of competition for your entry (Open Competition, Ladies Competition, or Senior Competition). Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the tournament starts with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $85 per person or $320 for a foursome. Extra shots are $5 each. An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the tournament is completed and all scores are posted.
