It’s tough to have a better opening weekend than the one had by the Bishop Brady football team and Rich Sullivan.

The senior receiver finished with six touchdowns for the Green Giants in their 59-2 victory over Farmington-Nute on Saturday on his way to being named the Monitor’s Player of the Week. Sullivan piled up five touchdowns alone in the first half as Brady stormed ahead 52-0 at halftime.

Sullivan hauled in three receiving touchdowns, returned two interceptions for scores, and just for good measure, added a punt return touchdown in the lopsided win.

The contest was reminiscent off Sullivan’s performance in the Division III quarterfinals a year ago, where the receiver exploded for five touchdown catches in a win over Newport.
