A celebration of perseverance with substance use disorder will take place Saturday in White Park in Concord.

The second annual Restore Your Spirit Celebration and Vigil will be held by STARS, a local volunteer group for people facing alcoholism or drug addiction. It takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday with music, kids’ events and food, as well as educational events.

A positive celebration, it will include live music and poetry from people who are in recovery and advocates who will speak about the effects of prevention and treatment. Matt Ganem The Poet, a Boston-based performer and drug abuse survivor, will be on hand.

Among the events will be a demonstration of how to use Narcan, the overdose-reversal drug. Some Narcan may be available for distribution.

Organizers described it as “a forum to help educate the public so the way that they respond to the people who suffer from substance use disorder will begin to shatter the stigma associated with it.” It will include a vigil for those whose lives have been lost to the drug epidemic.
