Lourdes Aviles, professor of meteorology at Plymouth State University will discuss the 1938 hurricane and the devastating effects it had on New England. She has written a book, Taken By Storm, 1938, on the subject.

The society’s museum in Old Town Hall is open every second and fourth Saturday morning of the month, 10 a.m. to noon, September through May.
