Middle school results

With some help from Amy Cohen and Camille Armaganian, Lexi Bennett scored the game-winning goal for the Rundlett Middle School field hockey “A” team (above) in a 1-0 win over Winnisquam for the state championship. Rundlett was also led by its defense, which helped preserve the shutout and the team’s perfect season. Rundlett defeated Keene, 1-0, in the first game of the tournament, using Cohen’s unassisted goal to advance, and again counted on Cohen in a 1-0 victory over Franklin where Maddy Raymond found Cohen with 58 seconds left for the winning score.

JV results

The Hopkinton JV girls’ soccer team finished up the season on Saturday with a tournament championship. The Hawks finished the year 14-0, netted 95 goals and allowed just 14 scores.

Youth hockey

Paced by two goals apiece for Rowan Arndt and Carter Doherty, the Concord Coach Lines Squirt 1 team picked up a 5-2 win over Andover, Mass. Fin Murphy accounted for the Capitals other goal.

The Unitil Concord Capitals Peewee III team posted their first win against Biddeford White, 4-1. Damon Corbett notched the game-winning score in a full team effort that also saw goals from Isaac Davis, Cam Carter and Nathan Currier.

Golf results

The team of Jim Dusseault and Chris Robinson took first place in the Sadie Hawkins Tournament at Pembroke Pines with a score of 75. Jackson Perry and Kristen Tanquay finished second at 77. On the net side, Brian Barker and Kate Kelleher claimed first at 62.

College standouts

Madison Nichols (Gilford) scored for the Saint Michael’s women’s ice hockey team during Saturday’s win over Post University.

Syracuse University’s Brooke Avery (Concord) scored a goal to help the women’s ice hockey team skate away with a 2-1 win over Providence on Friday. Avery slotted in a rebound off a shot from Kelli Rowswell to give Syracuse a 2-0 lead in the second period.

Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Seacoast United Cubs Baseball Club will be offering specialized skills classes for players in the Concord area. The 12-week classes begin Tuesday and will be offered from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. It will include classes such as General Skill Development, Gap-to-Gap Hitters’ Clinic, Strike-One Pitchers’ Clinic and Caught Stealing Catchers’ Clinic. Second grade pre-season basketball league run by Concord High School basketball coaches Dave Chase and Tim LaTorra will lead volunteer coaches through skills and drills. The league will focus on fundamentals of basketball while also introducing team play. The program runs on Saturdays from Nov. 4 through Dec. 16.

FieldHouse Sports Indoor Sports Facility soccer skills and goalkeeping clinics will begin Nov. 6 and run for six weeks. Clinics will be directed by Jorge Pardo, Director of Caramba Soccer Camps. Clinics are for ages 6-60 for all abilities and meet on Monday afternoons. The cost is $55 for ages 6-8 and $65 for ages 9-adult. Events

Bishop Brady and St. John Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Bishop Brady High School. The 2017 inductees include Neil Ackley (class of ’69), Robert Paveglio, (’69), Joe Farrelly (’73), John Hardiman (’67), Chelsea Proulx (’06), Scott Laliberte (’85) and Coach Greg Roberts who will receive the Sixth Man Award. The ceremony will also include a special unveiling honoring current Hall of Famer Tinker Foy (’57). Tickets for the event are $45.
