A Merrimack County grand jury has indicted a Vermont man accused of carjacking a vehicle at knifepoint in Concord in mid-August.
Oscar Ndibanje, 21, of Burlington, Vt., faces a charge of armed robbery in connection with the incident at Blossom Hill Cemetery on North State Street.
Prosecutors allege Ndibanje threatened the driver of a black Honda Civic by reaching through an open window with a knife. Ndibanje had initially asked the man for a ride, but became agitated when he didn’t immediately comply, authorities said.
After the driver fled on foot, Ndibanje attempted to operate the vehicle; however, he didn’t make it far because he couldn’t drive a stick-shift, according to reports.
An officer took Ndibanje into custody after a brief chase in the woods.
