Ace of Blades Mowing Concord Capitals Peewee 2 skated to a 5-2 win against Concord-Carlisle. Griffen Norwalt (two), Hayden Ford, Gavin Nestler and Bobby Bourgault scored for the Capitals. Hayden Ford had two assists.

The Concord Capitals Smoke Show Barbeque Squirt 2 team lost to Oyster River 2, 4-2. Noah Chrabolowski and Max Branch scored for Concord. The Capitals defeated Upper Valley 2, 6-1, with goals from Michael Barry, Ian Miller, Will McDevitt, Tyler Mayo, Jackson Hatfield and Chrabolowski.

UNH news

University of New Hampshire senior Elinor Purrier was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Runner of the Year for the Northeast Region after her first place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional meet. Purrier, who has now won the last two NCAA North East Regional Cross Country meets, has qualified for the NCAA Championship meet in Louisville, Ky. scheduled for Saturday.

Purrier, junior Shannon Murdock from Exeter, graduate student Alyson Messina and senior Riley Gilmore were all named to the 2017 America East Cross Country All-Academic Team.

Plymouth State news

Eight Plymouth State University football players were honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC). Defensive back Zach Ziemba was named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year, and PSU head coach Paul Castonia was voted the Championโ€™s Choice Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Senior defensive back Blair Zentek, senior defensive lineman Joe Esposito and Ziemba were named to the All-Conference First Team Defense. Junior offensive lineman Andrew Romeo, junior running back Mitch Banuskevich, junior quarterback Zack Edwards and freshman place kicker Jeremy Martin were named to the All-Conference Second Team Offense. Martin was also named All-Conference Second Team Defense as a punter. The Panthers (9-1) will travel to Brockport, N.Y. to face SUNY Brockport (10-0) at noon on Saturday for the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

The Warren Miller ski film โ€œLine of Descentโ€ will be showing five times at the Music Hall in Portsmouth on Nov. 20, 21 and 22. The Nov. 20 screening begins at 8 p.m. The film will again be shown at 6 and 9 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 22.
