The Concord Capitals Brochu Nursery & Landscaping Pee Wee I team beat the Lakes Region Lakers, 4-2. Tyler Fennelly scored twice for the Caps, while Henry Brochu and Henry Powell netted one goal each. Nathaniel Johnson, Sam Foulds, Nick Martel, Jordan Dustin, Avery Condon and Gage Winter had assists. Brady Cloutier and Colin Logan split the victory in goal.

Road race

Gift of Lights

The Gift of Lights presented by Eastern Propane & Oil, which has helped provide close to 60,000 meals through the generous non-perishable food item donations of patrons over the years, will begin its seventh season on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 2.5-mile drive-thru light show features more than two million LED lights throughout the 400 displays. There will be 60 different scenes this year including holiday, patriotic, and racing themes along with the popular Tunnel of Lights which brings visitors into the speedwayโ€™s infield.

The Gift of Lights presented by Eastern Propane & Oil supports local charities with a portion of all ticket proceeds going to the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Childrenโ€™s Charities (NH SCC), the official charitable arm for New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Since this event started, the Gift of Lights has raised more than $150,000 for NH SCC, benefiting close to 300,000 children across New England. The light show has also raised more than 73,000 pounds of food for the Loudon Food Pantry. Bring a non-perishable food item and you will receiver $2 off the price of admission.

Admission is $20 per car at the gate. Buses are $20 for the first 15 people and $2 for each additional person. The Gift of Lights will run daily through Dec. 31, with planned closings on Dec. 4 and Dec. 25, and a delayed opening at 6 p.m. on Dec. 10.

Tryouts/Registrations

Winter basketball leagues for boys and girls of all skill levels in grades 2-9 are now being offered by Cap City Basketball. The leagues will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club on Sundays from Dec. 3-Feb. 18, excluding Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Ten fully officiated games are guaranteed, and eight practices. Concord Crush spring season registration is now open. Crush offers both boysโ€™ and girlsโ€™ lacrosse teams for grades 1-8. A Little Crush option is available for those younger than first grade. Camps/Clinics/Lessons

Cap City Basketball is hosting six clinics in November for players in kindergarten through 10th grade. Two of the clinics (Friday and Sunday) will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club with K-5 going from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while grades 6-10 from 12:30-2 p.m. Cost is $25 per clinic or $100 for all six, which includes a free Cap City headband. FieldHouse Sports field hockey clinics for boys and girls in grades K-6 are open for registration. Beginners are encouraged to participate. The next session begins Dec. 7. FieldHouse Sports Indoor Facility in Bow is accepting registrations for its Soccer Skills and Goalkeeping Clinics which will begin on Dec. 18. Nordic ski lessons offered through the Concord Nordic BKL via Concord Parks & Recreation, can teach children how to ski and offer training for the more experienced skier, as well as opportunities to learn about Nordic racing. Concord Crush Learn to Play lacrosse clinics will be held this winter. This will be a co-ed clinic for players in grades 1-4. Cannons Baseball is seeking players for the 11U and 15U teams for 2018. The head coach is Dale Emerson. The team does not conflict with town league All Stars. John Stark High winter sports parent/athlete meeting is scheduled for Nov. 30 in the gym. After a brief presentation by the athletic director, parents and athletes will be sent to various classrooms to meet with the coach.
