The Ace of Blades Mowing Concord Capitals Peewee 2 team skated to a 3-3 tie against Manchester on Saturday. Evan Purtell, Gavin Nestler and Hayden Ford handled the scoring. On Sunday, Concord picked up a 4-1 win over Kearsarge before losing to the Junior Railers, 5-2.
The Bow third- and fourth-grade boys’ basketball team defeated Litchfield, Hooksett 4 and Hampstead to move to 9-3 on the season. Offensively, Kyle Cimis, Tommy Tsouros and Brendan O’Keeffe led the team in scoring.
Sophomore forward Meghara McManus netted two goals to tie the game, but the UNH women’s hockey team lost to Northeastern, 5-3. Senior forward Carlee Toews assisted on all three goals for the Wildcats, freshman goalie Ava Boutilier made 26 saves in the loss.
Senior goalie Sean Dynan posted a shutout and Arlo Merritt scored twice to lift the Kimball Union hockey team to a 6-0 win over Brunswick School.
The St. Paul’s School wrestling team picked up wins over Tabor Academy (45-30), BB&N (48-30) and St. Sebastian’s (60-12).

FieldHouse Sports Indoor Facility in Bow is accepting registrations for its Soccer Skills and Goalkeeping Clinics which will begin on Dec. 18. Nordic ski lessons offered through the Concord Nordic BKL via Concord Parks & Recreation, can teach children how to ski and offer training for the more experienced skier, as well as opportunities to learn about Nordic racing. Concord Crush Learn to Play lacrosse clinics will be held this winter. This will be a co-ed clinic for players in grades 1-4. Clinics will be held Monday evenings beginning Jan. 22 and running through March. Clinics will be held at Seacoast Indoor, 10 Ferry St. This clinic is open to all area players. Plymouth State University Softball clinics will start on Jan. 28 with special guests Dick Blood, the former head coach at Cornell University, and Harold Sachs, the former Salem High coach and current pitching coach at Merrimack College. Blood will lead a hitting clinic from 9-10:30 a.m., and Sachs will holding a pitching clinic from 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost for these is $40 per player. Four more clinics will be led by Plymouth State softball coaches and players and will be held on four separate Saturdays; Feb. 3, 17 and 24 and March 3, from 9 a.m.-noon. The cost is $30 per player. There is also a team discount – if five or more players from the same team/league particpate, the cost is $15 per player. Gift of Lights presented by Eastern Propane & Oil, which has helped provide close to 60,000 meals through the generous non-perishable food item donations of patrons over the years, has kicked off its seventh season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 2.5-mile drive-thru light show features more than two million LED lights throughout the 400 displays. There will be 60 different scenes this year including holiday, patriotic, and racing themes along with the popular Tunnel of Lights which brings visitors into the speedway’s infield. Admission is $20 per car at the gate. Buses are $20 for the first 15 people and $2 for each additional person. The Gift of Lights will run daily through Dec. 31, with planned closings on Monday and Dec. 25, and a delayed opening at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Annual Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Jan. 7 and will begin at 11 a.m. at both the Gilford Middle School and High School gymnasiums. The fundraising event is a fun, recreational co-ed tournament for high school age students through adults. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research, as well as the Amy Annis Scholarship Fund, which is given annually to a graduating senior.
