There are some new pieces going up at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art this week.

Figuratively Speaking, an exhibit of recent works by New England artists will be on display in the Carriage House galleries from Sunday through March 15. The art explores concepts such as what is the shape of jazz, the color of a conversation or the atmosphere of a recurring memory?

The collection will include artists Jessica Allard, Becky Barsi, James Chase, Ali Keller, Mary Mead, Pam Tarbell, Sam Trioli, Alison Palizzolo and others.

An opening reception with refreshments will be held Feb. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden will have works by its artists at the Kimball Jenkins House, too.

You can view work by Dustan Knight, Mike Howat, Annette Mitchell, Tony Jimenez and others until March 30.

Also at the Kimball Jenkins House, the school is partnering with Mill Brook for the Wednesdays’ Wisdom potluck. On Feb. 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Kirke Olsen and Sher Kammen will discuss “A Valentine’s Day Sampler: Sweets about your love, your heart and your mind.”
