Show your support for full-day kindergarten

It’s school budget time once again, and in my recent experience as a school board candidate, I know first hand that full-day kindergarten is high on our community’s priority list. After a competitive election, we now have a majority of board members who have committed to voting for full-day kindergarten in 2018.

The philosophical support for early childhood education is there, now it’s time to move forward with this important, impactful program for Concord’s children.

At this week’s introductory budget meeting, the board learned that it’s facing nowhere near the kind of financial challenges that motivated their rejection of full-day kindergarten last year. Now’s the time for our school board to invest in what’s best for our district’s kids.

If you want to be sure full-day kindergarten happens this year, reach out to members of the board to voice your support, or attend the program session Feb. 21 and the public hearings in March.

Your support for this important issue changed the board, now let’s change how we educate our kids.
