The family of a woman in Hudson who was struck and killed by a pickup truck in 1990 by an unknown driver is still seeking information, but mostly, an apology.
On March 3 of that year, Shelia Rosati, of Dracut, Mass., was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Hudson.
Witnesses said they saw a 1981-90 Dodge Ram, either silver or light blue, traveling when it struck Rosati and kept going.
Police have not been able to identify the operator of this vehicle. WMUR reported there were witnesses to the crash, but the case went cold until 2004, when police got an anonymous letter identifying a possible suspect. They received a similar letter last year and now they say there are some promising leads.
Police said the chances are slim that charges will be filed, but the case is more about closure at this point.
Lori Rosati, Shelia’s sister, said she especially wants some answers for her parents, both of whom are in their 80s.
An apology would help.
“Now it’s time for them to say ‘Sorry,’ ” Rosati said. “Just come forward and say you’re sorry. That’s all I asked before. That’s all we ask as a family right now.”
