A few months ago the media was abuzz over reports that Mark Zuckerberg might run for president. It is apparent, after his testimony before Congress, that he doesn’t even understand how Facebook works, much less the country.

The Man-boy Prince of social media was short on answers, unable or unwilling to respond to difficult questions. “My team will look into it” was the standard response for the billionaire who appeared to be wearing his first “big boy” suit sitting on a booster seat.

There is no doubt that Facebook is addictive as participants compare their lives to others, which is unhealthy. Facebook isolates people and reduces social interaction. There are so many negatives about Facebook that one could go on forever.

Most troubling is that Facebook is political and censors (as do many newspapers including the Monitor) those who have opinions that don’t match those of their leadership. What’s new?

Pick up most newspapers or tune into all but one network and hyper-partisanship abounds. Read any of the top five stories on msn.com and PTSD (President Trump Stress Disorder) is front and center.

Even more embarrassing was the lack of understanding of the internet and how it works by senators who just know that government needs to regulate it.

After listening to Zuckerberg and noting the confusion at Facebook, I suggest that they hire consultants to come in and fix things. Perhaps the Winklevoss twins with assistance from Divya Narenda (the real inventors of Facebook) could advise Zuckerberg on how to manage their platform.
