Alice Rosenberg pitched a complete game and the Concord JV softball team defeated Spaulding, 4-1, to win the championship. Lillian Rienstra was solid behind the plate and Alyssa Fallon drove in the winning run with a triple. The Tide finished 3-0 in pool play, beating Keene, Nashua South and Brattleboro to reach the title game. For the tournament, Rosenberg finished with three wins and 20 strikeouts, Jaelyn Kelleher added a win and four strikeouts.
The Hopkinton JV softball team won its eighth straight, defeating Pittsfield to finish the season 10-2. Kally Murdough had an inside-the-park home run, and Julia Baer made a diving catch in left field to start a double play. Maurgan McGrath scored five times. Abby Condon, unable to play due to injury, did a nice job coaching first base.
The John Stark JV softball team lost to Goffstown, 13-12. Lilli Stogner (3-for-5, four RBI, 2 doubles) led Stark’s offense and Tyler Descoteau pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts.
The Concord JV baseball team (14-3) defeated Spaulding, 7-5, in eight innings. Ronan McGonigle, Cam Thompson and Chase Langevin drove in runs for the Tide while Ryan Merchant got the win on the mound.
Mike Stoddard collected two hits for the Concord freshman baseball team in a 3-2 loss to Bishop Guertin in the semifinals. Kevin McDonough (hit, RBI) and Nate Vandersea (hit, run) both contributed at the plate. Tyler Wright tossed six innings with five strikeouts.
The Merrimack Valley Middle School softball team (4-7) lost in the first round of the playoffs to Litchfield, 2-0. MV’s Livi Lacasse pitched well, striking out 10 and allowing just three hits. Meghan Murray had the Pride’s lone hit and was one of the eighth graders playing their last game for MVMS along with Abby Allen, Kristen Therrien, Caroline Cherian and Justyn Hoyt.
In a first-round Tri County League playoff game, the Hopkinton Middle School softball team beat Candia, 18-2. Kyanna Landry (four putouts), Gina Simpkins (five innings pitched), Beth Taylor (four RBI), Olivia Bradfield (two RBI) and Elizabeth Baron (two runs) led the Hawks, who play in the semifinals on Tuesday.
Convenient MD battled Concord Fratello’s to an extra inning tie, 10-10. Gavin Nestler (two doubles), Adam Richter (defense) and Liam O’Rourke (pitching) played well for Convenient MD. pitched well in relief as well as got the save. For Frattellos Colin Ala (4-for-5, two runs, double) and Brett McDonough (pitching, hit) led Fratello’s.
Tim Pratt and John Fraser won the Two Ball Best Ball event at Country Country Club on Sunday with a score of 62. Behind them were Dave Mattson and DJ Knapton, as well as Pratt and John Sullivan with scores of 64. Marge Bell won the women’s event of match vs. par with a score of two down.

NHTI Athletics Department Golf Series will be held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course on June 8. Cost is $450 for a team of four. Greens fees, cart and dinner are included. The tournament will be a shotgun start beginning at 1:30 p.m. Registrations begins at 12:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, raffle, closest to the pin, longest drive, and other opportunities to win prizes. The second event is a nine-hole shotgun start tournament at Loudon Country Club on Aug. 21. Teams are $175 for a foursome or $50 per player. Winnipesaukee Muskrats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League are looking for local families to host players for the upcoming summer season. Players typically range from 19-22 years of age and will arrive the first week of June and leave the first week of August. Host families are asked to provide a spare room with a bed, access to shower and laundry facilities, and occasional meals for their player – typically breakfast. Transportation is not required. Host families are offered free season tickets for their entire household, three free weeks of baseball camp for their children, free admission to all other NECBL venues, and access to special events before and during the season. Concord Flyers Girls Track & Field program will be opening its 27th season on June 4. The program runs from June through early August and is for girls age 7-15. Peak FC, a new non-profit soccer and futsal club launching in June and based out of Pembroke and Concord, will play soccer and train at the NEAC complex in Pembroke and play futsal at the new Concord Community Center. The new club will offer a full-year option (Aug.-June) and also offer seasonal options for kids who are multi-sport athletes. Concord Parks and Recreation field hockey introduction program is being offered for players ages 2-5. The Elementary School Skills program introduces players to the basic fundamentals needed to be successful in the game of field hockey. Classes progress from technical skill work to small game play. UNH men’s basketball team Elite Camp will be on June 23 for players entering grades 9-12 next fall.
