With everything going on this Memorial Day weekend, it’s easy to lose track of holiday schedules and upcoming deadlines if you live in Concord. Here are a few things you should know:
If you haven’t heard, all city offices and the library will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Trash pickup will be delayed one day through Saturday.
After the ceremony, the parade will continue south on North State Street, turning left onto Capitol Street, then right onto Main Street. Closing ceremonies will take place at City Plaza. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the State House Hall of Flags.
This is the last week for spring leaf collection, so if you haven’t kicked your spring clippings to the curb, now is the time.
Residents may also bring leaves to Gelinas Excavation & Earth Recycling Center. Gelinas Excavation & Earth Recycling Center will not have Saturday hours this weekend due to the Memorial Day holiday and June 2 will be the last day for Saturday drop-offs from 8 a.m. to noon.
June 5 is the last day to change your party affiliation ahead of the September state primary elections. Those wishing to do so can visit the city clerk’s office during normal business hours. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays. The office will remain open until 7:30 p.m. on June 5.
Can’t remember your current party affiliation? Look it up on the state’s voter information website.
