Concord Post 21 won a pair of games on a hot Sunday in Keene to capture the trophy in the 43rd annual Karl “Gubby” Underwood tournament.

Concord defeated Leominster (Mass.), 6-0, in the nightcap for the championship. Brian Nylen pitched a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts and three hits. Ryan Tessier went 3-for-5, and Griffin Gilbert was 3-for-5 with two RBI. Jacob Knowles also knocked in a pair of runs. Eric Sullivan, Zach Miles and Kurtis Stadnicki notched two hits apiece.

Post 21 defeated Brattleboro (Vt.), 14-3, in the matinee. Ryan Merchant earned the win pitching 5 innings while allowing three runs. Sean McDonough was perfect in the batter’s box going 4-for-4 with three RBI. Knowles was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, one on a homer. Stadnicki was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Sullivan and Miles each had three hits.
