Merrimack Valley alumni Matthew Doyle and Branden McCoo both raced to podium finishes in the Vermont Sun Triathlon at Lake Dumore last weekend. Doyle took first to win and McCoo was third.

Tennis tournament

A singles and doubles tennis tournament for boys and girls 18-and-under will be held at Concordโ€™s Memorial Field courts on Julyย 24 and 25. Fisher Cats rained out

Tuesday nightโ€™s doubleheader between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Trenton Thunder was postponed due to inclement weather and field conditions. The games will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The teams will begin the twin bill with the continuation of their suspended game from April 29, beginning in the bottom of the third inning with the Thunder leading 3-0. After playing the suspended game to the full nine innings, the teams will play a seven-inning game. The final game of the series between New Hampshire and Trenton will be made up during the series in Trenton, N.J., scheduled for Aug. 17-19. An official make up date has yet to be announced. Fans with tickets to Tuesdayโ€™s doubleheader can redeem them at the Fisher Cats box office for any other regular season home game this year.

Public roller skating nights are returning this summer to the Douglas N. Everett Arena on Friday and Sunday nights. Admission is $5 and skate rentals are available for $5. Seacoast Ingard Tennis Tournament is scheduled for July 27-29 at the Seacoast Indoor Tennis Club in North Hampton. Mixed doubles will be contested in open, A and B categories. Junior divisions for girls and boys age 16 and 18 and under. Open players generally have a suggested rating of 4.5-plus, while A players are 4.0 or below. Doubles and mixed doubles ratings would be 9.0-plus in the Open categories, and 8.0 or below in the A categories, and B mixed doubles would be 7.0 or below.
