About 15 brightly colored balloons are scheduled to fill the skies above Pittsfield during a hot air balloon rally this weekend. It will be the Suncook Valley Rotary Club’s 37th annual event.

As always, balloon flights are weather-permitting, but pilots will be meeting at Drake Field to check weather conditions on Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30 a.m. According to the event’s Facebook page “launch status will be updated right here on this Facebook page as soon as we know … which will likely only be a few minutes before they start inflating.” Night glows are also scheduled for after sunset on Friday and Saturday with fireworks wrapping up the day on Saturday.

This year’s highlights include a Pandy, a panda-shaped balloon that will be on display throughout the event; a walk-through balloon, tethered balloon rides; and helicopter rides.
