Hooksett’s Matthew Paradis, a member of Concord Country Club, shot a 1-over 73 in the first round of the U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach on Monday and is tied for 43rd place in a field of more than 300 of the nation’s top amateurs.

Daniel Hillier (New Zealand) and Trevor Phillips (South Carolina) lead the pack tied at 4-under after the first round.

Paradis is scheduled to start his second round at Pebble Beach Golf Links on the 10th hole at 10:30 a.m.
