A Hudson man was killed Wednesday on his way home from Yankee Stadium when he climbed on top of a train and was electrocuted by overhead wires, according to the New York Post.
Michael Vigeant, 24, tried to climb to the top of a Metro-North train from the inside when he came in contact with a wire and was electrocuted. The conductor asked for any medical professionals who happened to be on the train to help Vigeant, the paper reported.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials told the newspaper that Vigeantโs brother also climbed to the top of the train but got back down safely.
The train was traveling from Yankee Stadium to New Haven, Conn. The train left the field shortly before 11 p.m. and the brothers are reported to have tried climbing onto the trainโs roof about a half hour later.
Passengers were stuck for two hours, the Post reported, due to lost power, and did not reach its final destination until 3:20 a.m. Thursday.
