Concord Hospital has joined Anthem’s Pathway Network, for people who get health insurance through the state’s Marketplace Exchange.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire said the Pathway Network now includes 24 of the state’s 26 acute-care hospitals, plus some hospitals in Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont. Anthem said it includes “approximately 95 percent of the state’s primary care providers and specialists, 87 percent of ambulatory surgical centers, and 98 percent of ancillary providers.”
Concord Hospital and its professional provider group, Concord Hospital Medical Group, joined the network effective the start of October.
“We anticipate this will be good news for our patients, as we expand coverage options and continue to provide high quality clinical care within our community,” said Scott Sloane, chief financial officer at Concord Hospital.
Anthem was the only carrier in New Hampshire to offer individual health plans on the state’s health insurance marketplace when that system began in 2014, and has offered plans every year since. Anthem said health benefit plans on the exchange that are priced approximately 30 percent lower than a plan off the exchange.
