It appears Democrats have taken control of the New Hampshire Executive Council, with one race too close to call.

In District 1, Democrat Michael Cryans had 51 percent to Joseph Kenney’s 47 percent, with 2 percent for Libertarian Tobin Menard.

In District 2, which includes Concord, Democrat Andru Volinsky easily defeated James Beard, 58 percent to 42 percent.

In District 3, Republican Russell Prescott, was leading Joe Pace, 39,676 to 39,117, a 1 percentage point advantage, with most precincts counted. Libertarian James Jarvis had 2,447 votes, or 3 percent of the total.

In District 4, Republican Ted Gatsas and Democrat Gray Chynoweth were virtually tied, separated by fewer than 300 votes. Libertarian Richard Tomasso had 3,248 votes. 

In District 5, Democrat Debora Pignatelli defeated incumbent Dave Wheeler, 51 percent to 46 percent. Libertairan Brian Chabot received 3 percent of the vote.
