Centerpoint Church in downtown Concord celebrated its 200th anniversary last month with artifacts and history from its past as the First Baptist Church. The structure and steeple have dominated the downtown, with the structure built in 1824. For a whole weekend in October, Centerpoint brought back documents, photographs, Bibles and other artifacts showing the history of both the structure and the history of the church. Col. William A. Kent gave the land upon which the church edifice was built in 1824.
