To our Democratic U.S. representatives: “We need Nancy Pelosi’s experience as speaker.” Nonsense!
As a first act of the new Congress, we need, well, someone new. A return to a congressional status quo the electorate rejected years ago is the opposite of what voters demand. Pelosi is the most reviled politician in America besides Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Do you want to win in 2020? But you’re going to make Pelosi speaker out of some misguided loyalty, recapitulating the same disaster the DNC created when it sanctified Clinton’s nomination? How tone deaf can a Congress be?
