New Hampshire State Police responded to a serious crash on Interstate 93 North in Concord on Nov. 9, 2018.

Police have identified a Tilton man who was killed while walking in the middle of Interstate 93 in Bow last Monday.

Glenn Vienneau was hit on Interstate 93 just after 7 p.m. on Nov. 12 by a vehicle traveling northbound, state police said. He died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

Police could not immediately identify Vienneau. They were able to identify him three days after the accident when hunters reported an abandoned van parked along power lines in Bow on Nov. 15, according to a press release. The vehicle was owned by Vienneau.

The driver of the vehicle was not charged with a crime and not identified by police.

Police said they don’t know why Vienneau was walking on the highway. They said his family has been notified of his death, and that they are still investigating what happened.

The Bow Fire and Rescue, Hooksett Fire and Rescue and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted the state police at the scene of the accident. Traffic was slowed for a few hours after the incident.

New Hampshire State Police ask that anyone with information on the accident contact Trooper Brandon Stubbs at 223-3654.
