Intown Concord has found a new executive director from the Sunshine State.
Dawn Badami had her first day at the nonprofit dedicated to promoting the Capital City’s downtown two weeks ago, according to a recent press release.
Recently relocated from Brooksville, Fla., Badami has worked in finance and real estate, and most recently worked at the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce for six and a half years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Badami was selected from a pool of 70 applicants, according to the press release.
“An extremely outgoing person, Dawn has the right skill set and experience to lead Intown Concord in our work to promote Downtown Concord as a great place to live, work, and play,” said Johane Telgener, president of Intown’s board of directors, via the release.
Badami replaces Michelle Motuzas Johnson, who resigned this summer, citing “professional differences” with the board of directors.
Events and Outreach Coordinator Kate Fleming also resigned to pursue a role as communications and outreach for the Duprey Companies in September. She has since been replaced by Matt Jalbert, according to Intown’s website.
Both Fleming and Johnson came to Intown in late 2016 after the departure of Operations Manager Liza Poinier, now a Concord school board member.
