George Soros is a distinguished philanthropist who’s committed himself and his fortune to advancing democracy and human rights throughout the world.
Soros admirably supported Lech Walesa’s Solidarity Movement, which ended the Soviet Union’s domination of Poland, and backs groups like the New Israel Fund and Adalah who advocate for the rights of Palestinians.
The Soros Open Society Foundations and Central Europe University that he founded in his native Hungary exemplify the finest ideals and principles of Western Civilization, which put them into conflict against the xenophobic anti-immigrant kleptocracy of defacto dictator Viktor Orban. The Neo-fascist Orban, who has destroyed democratic governance and the independent media in Hungary, is greatly admired by President Donald Trump’s ideological guru Steve Bannon.
Orban ran a despicable and virulently anti-Semitic election last April that scapegoated Soros personally, plastering his picture on billboards with derogatory messages about him across Hungary, but Soros is also being maligned by reactionary right-wingers like Trump in this country.
Columnist Ray Duckler giving an unchallenged platform to the extreme views of two local people spreading fabrications about Soros, falsely accusing him of paying protesters and outrageously saying he’s a traitor to this country while implying he should be shot only days after a bomb was delivered to Soros’s home, was reprehensible.
Soros and MasterCard are honorably aiding refugees, and any assertion otherwise is contemptible gutter trash. George Soros is an American patriot whose political activism has benefited humanity for decades.
