The French president levied a new fuel tax, and the populace took to the streets. This was the fourth weekend of protests, and each has been more violent that the preceding. Violent agitators have taken over, and joined in the student and citizen uprising.
This all came about after the Paris agreement. The French people see this added levy as an attempt to fund third-world governments to manage climate control. They want any tax increases to fix problems in France. Sound familiar?
As I write this, 400 “yellow vest” protestors have been arrested, 130 have been injured and there has been one death. Businesses have had their glass fronts broken and looted. Two hundred cars have been torched and burned to date. Obviously, Emmanuel Macron has overstepped and the French have had enough.
Let this be a message to the socialist movement in America. It will not stand.
