John Stark Regional High School art students traveled to the Hot Glass Art Center in Marlborough in November to learn about the process of blowing glass from artist Jordana Korsen. During the visit, students learned the process of blowing and manipulating hot glass.
โGlassblowing was an impressive team building experience for students, too, as they helped each other with the process of blowing glass,โ said JSRHS teacher Bess French. โStudents created their own glass cups, pumpkins, bowls and paperweights while actively learning the entire process of working with hot glass from start to finish.โ
Korsen has been an educator in hot glass since 1992. In addition to the Hot Glass Center, she currently teaches classes at the Corning Museum of Glass, Snow Farm and The New England Craft Program.
For the last three years, John Stark art students have worked with Korsen once a semester.
