Concord has issued a downtown winter storm parking ban Thursday night into Friday morning.

The ban means no on-street parking is allowed in the downtown area between midnight and 7 a.m. Friday. The ban extends from the intersection of N. Main Street and Court Street to the intersection of S. Main Street and Perley Street to the south. The ban covers Storrs Street and the downtown portions of N. and S. State streets and Green Street.

Parking is available free of charge in the cityโ€™s three municipal garages from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. every day inย permittedย spaces and 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. inย metered spaces, regardless of weather.

Those who violate the ban could face a hefty price. A ticket will run you $100. Any ticket that goes unpaid for 10 business days doubles in cost and quadruples after 20.

A towing fee costs $125. Retrieving your vehicle from where it was towed before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m. costs $60. Youโ€™ll be hit with a $55 storage fee for every 24 hours you donโ€™t retrieve your car.

The public can sign up for parking ban notices by clicking the โ€œNotify Meโ€ button on the cityโ€™s website or visit www.concordnh.gov/winteroperations for more information.
