Sunapee Ski Area has closed what appears to be the oldest chairlift in New Hampshire, known as the Duckling Double.
The resort announced on Instagram earlier this month that it has retired the chairlift, which had been used only on a part-time basis for a number of years, saying, “Thank you to the Duck for all the nostalgic memories.”
According to a database kept by New England Ski Industry web site, the Duckling Double was installed in 1962.
“Tenney Mountain’s 1964 Hornet Double is now the oldest operating chairlift in New Hampshire,” the site wrote.
