A few weeks ago the city of Keene joined four other cities across New Hampshire in passing a 100 percent renewable energy resolution. So many towns and cities have spoken out about the dangers of climate change, but the ambitious goals of this resolution show how serious the people of New Hampshire are about combating the climate crisis. Thank you, Keene, for doing this ground-breaking work for our state and for being leaders for our country.

I hope additional cities and towns follow suit. Not only to secure our future on this planet for generations to come, but to push for smart investments for New Hampshire. As states around us surge ahead in clean energy development, New Hampshire could fall behind, meaning electricity prices go up. This would negatively impact our bills, our economy and our standing as a forward-thinking state. I hope communities across our state look at this renewable energy boom as one of the greatest opportunities of the century, as well as being a solution for the greatest problem we will ever face.
