About $20,000 of the project has already been raised, from donations from Gilford’s Parent Teacher Association.
Budget: The proposed operating budget is $25.2 million, up by about $326,000 from last year’s budget of $24.9 million.
The majority of the increase is tied to fixed staffing costs – about $164,564 will go to a 3 percent salary increase for teachers; $92,872 is attributed to about a 0.5 percent increase in retirement contributions; and $63,320 would go to contractual increases for the district’s busing company.
Noteworthy articles: Gilford is looking at adding a World Language teacher to start a K-7 language program in the district.
The teacher would have a summer curriculum and would cost about $89,199.
When and where: The school district’s deliberative session will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Gilford High School. Ballot voting will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 12 at the Gilford Youth Center.
