Dear Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan: I have never in my 80 years of life seen such stubbornness, venomous actions and hatefulness demonstrated by the representatives of the Democratic Party toward anything that the president requested as I have seen during the last two years.
The nomination process toward the last two judges for the U.S. Supreme Court was disgusting. There was no thought toward civil, decent, kind behavior.
I am a Bible-believing woman. Hear these words from the Bible: “Thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. . . . Love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37, 39)
I do not see that the Democratic Party members “love they neighbors as thyself,” especially these last two years.
We see fences around homes and land put up for protection all the time. Playgrounds and dog parks also have fences for protection. Why not have a fence along our southern border for protection? Our border patrol wants one. Our president wants one. At one time, members of your Democratic Party wanted one. Now your party acts hatefully even at the mention of one.
I sincerely hope and pray that the attitude will change and our government workers will not be furloughed again.
It is up to you people in Congress to work together with the president and get a protection fence built with extra surveillance measures approved. Please, all members, act like the responsible, mature people that we sent to Congress and that I want to believe you want to be.
