I am writing to ask you to vote for Byron Champlin on March 5 in Concord’s municipal special election. Byron is seeking the at-large city council seat vacated by Steve Shurtleff, now the N.H. speaker of the House. This is fitting, because like Speaker Shurtleff, Byron has a heart of gold, a commitment to public service, an inclusive style and the experience to govern on day one.
Byron has demonstrated the unique ability to serve with independence yet collaboratively, and I know from our years of friendship that he will continue to do so as he takes on the role of serving all of Concord’s interests.
I applaud almost anyone who steps up to serve in local office, and commend those running against Byron. I hope they continue to seek out ways to engage in the public arena. But in this election, there is one clear choice to succeed Steve Shurtleff for all citizens of Concord, and that is Byron Champlin, a champion for all of Concord.
