One person was taken to the hospital with second- and third-degree burns after being rescued from a house fire in Epsom on Friday night.

Firefighters answered a call about 8:30 p.m. and found the single-story home at 19 Old Mill Road in flames.

Epsom fire captain Ted Virgin said there were “some good Samaritans that assisted (the victim) from the home.” Nobody else was inside.

The victim was first taken to Concord Hospital and later transported to a burn center in Boston.

The fire was in control in about one hour, but the house was destroyed. Six area fire departments assisted Epsom.
